Listening Strategies Used by English Language Education Program Students in an Online Academic Listening Course

Abstract. There has been extensive research done on learning strategies nowadays. A lot of researchers are interested to know which commonly used by EFL learners. They perceive the importance this study. This was therefore investigate English Language Education Program students in an online Academic Listening course. study employed a qualitative method. To find out answer, questionnaires that consisted some close-ended and open-ended questions were used. The questionnaire distributed 34 2020 batch, who taking class. Interviews with gain further information had unique answers also conducted. results showed listening class, six strategies, those metacognitive, cognitive, memory, compensatory, social, affective strategies. findings metacognitive cognitive mostly students. Keywords: academic listening, learningAbstrak. Telah banyak penelitian dilakukan terkait dengan strategi pembelajaran. Banyak peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui belajar apakah yang umum digunakan oleh para siswa Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Para memandang pentingnya hal ini. Oleh karena itu, ini mahasiswa program Pendidikan pada mata kuliah Listening. Data diambil menggunakan metode kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan jawaban, kuesioner berisi beberapa pertanyaan terbuka dan tertutup. Kuesioner dibagikan kepada angkatan 2020, dimana mereka sedang mengambil tersebut. Dilakukan interview mendapat informasi mendalam mahasiwa jawaban menarik atau kurang jelas. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa di kelas Listening, 6 yaitu metakognitif, kognitif, memori, kompensatori,sosial, afektif. Temuan metakognitif cognitif adalah sering mahasiswa.
